Polaris Dance Theatre is thrilled to expand its season by adding a third full evening concert. Our all-new Snowman and the Red Thread is sure to become a family classic. This season also marks our 10th anniversary which we will celebrate at our Gala and with our fall concert Tangled at Lincoln Hall. The season kicks off this June with our studio show X-Posed. In addition to our three full evening length works Polaris produces two dance festivals annually – The Groovin’ Greenhouse and Galaxy Dance Festival at Director Park. These showcases are non curated and feature a mix of established as well as yet-to-be discovered dance organizations in the Portland area. Read below for season information. NOTE: While Polaris doesn’t offer season ticketing yet, we do have a discount program for our fans that see multiple shows. As long as you order tickets directly through us you will automatically receive increasing discounts the more you see.
Join Polaris on June 6-15 for Hand Picked, our third annual X-POSED new work showcase, which features world premiere choreography in an intimate studio setting.
In a new twist, Artistic Director Robert Guitron invites his company members to choose the work for this innovative program. Hand Picked is curated entirely by the dancers of Polaris, who created their own new work and voted on the submissions of outside choreographers to join them. Don¹t miss your chance to see nine new works so exciting, our dancers couldn’t wait to share them with you!
We are thrilled to announce our first contemporary story ballet.
Polaris Dance Theatre and the Fertile Ground Festival are pleased to once again collaborate on THE GROOVIN’ GREENHOUSE. During the Festival – a 10-day celebration of local Portland art – Polaris Dance Theatre will host a special space for new dance works to grow! Dance lovers will take in a spectrum of styles and choreographers all under one roof.
