Krisitn Lucas was born in Tacoma, WA. Although she first started ballet classes at age three, her serious training in ballet began with Joanne Willoughby in British Columbia. Kristin spent 5 years with Conservatory Ballet Theatre under the artistic direction of Rita Rogers-Brodie where she performed soloist roles in such ballets as Copellia, Midsummer NightsDream, Giselle, and The Nutcracker. Her first introduction to modern dance was at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle. There she had the opportunity to study with many wonderful teachers and choreographers including Patricia Hon, Bill T. Jones, Ralph Lemon, Wade Madsen, Bebe Miller, Mark Morris, Deborah Wolfe and many more. Since moving to Portland five years ago, she has performed with The Portland Opera, Bodyvox, Imago Theatre, Northwest Academy and The Broadway Rose Theatre Company. She received her BFA in Dance from Cornish College of the Arts. Kristin is a founder of Polaris and remains an integral part of the success of Polaris.
