Update from Jr. Company Director, M’liss Stephenson: Since we have started, the students have been learning a Polaris repertoire piece called Legions. It’s a piece the company has performed numerous times, and one we will continue to use down the road. The Jr. Company students have been doing such a wonderful job tackling this piece. I have not made any adaptations to the original choreography which is a great testament to the students hunger for the movement.
Once we have completed that piece the students will then be broken up into some smaller pieces. It’s amazing to have so many Jr. Company members, and they definitely make for a big group piece!:) We are also finalizing the Jr. Company full evening performance, witch will take place in early June.
I feel very fortunate to be working with this group of kids, and I would like to take this moment to thank the parents of Jr. Company. With out there support the Jr. Company would not exist, or be at the caliber that it is. It’s truly a pleasure to be working with the parents of Jr. Company, as we help the kids develop into the strong and wonderful dancers they are, and will become.
