Dance With Polaris!
Launched in 2002 by award-winning choreographer Robert Guitron, Portland-based Polaris Dance Theatre is a professional dance organization that creates and produces works of dance for the local, national and international stage. Our productions are visually innovative, athletic, intelligent, emotional and thought-provoking. Dancers must be versatile with a strong background in both contemporary as well as classical styles. Partnering skills are required. Some aerial experience is preferred. Our season consists of three fully-staged evening productions, as well as festival performances, special events and possible touring. Auditions take place at Polaris Dance Theatre.

Junior Company (JCo)/Summer Program Auditions
JCo was established in 2011 as a pre-professional company for youth ages 14 – 18. The program is designed to offer young, talented dancers a chance to grow their skills and experience the demands of rehearsing and performing in a professional environment. March auditions apply to the 2015/2016 (Sept – June) Junior Company Season. We will be asking dancers to perform a variety of techniques and ballet slippers are recommended. If new to Polaris, legal guardians of students will need to sign a waiver at the door. Tuition-based training program, with limited scholarships available upon application and approval.
Outstanding faculty and a diverse and highly challenging curriculum have made our Summer Intensive Program for experienced dancers 14+, one of the region’s finest. This intensive includes training in contemporary, ballet, hip hop, aerial, salsa, partnering and more! This program includes a final performance in August!
Polaris Dance Theatre’s Springboard Program is designed for intermediate dancers, ages 11-15, who aspire to continue their diverse dance education and have interest in attending summer dance intensives in the future. Springboard will polish technical skills in the areas of Contemporary, Ballet, Hip Hop, and Aerial, with a finale performance in August!
